Amplify Asian @ Sundance 2024

1.17.2024 – 1.23.2024

Every year, Amplify Asian travels to Park City, UT to kick off the new year at North America’s most prestigious indie film festival with AAPI professional networking events with great food and conversations. In 2023, we hosted a Soup Dumpling Night. This year, we upped our game and brought Asian Texan BBQ to Park City.

We were also very grateful to work with a handful of amazing co-hosts.

Through our Sundance events, we hope to achieve a few goals:

– An opportunity to gather AAPI filmmakers and their allies to network.

– Help make Sundance a more affordable platform for AAPI representation
through free food, convenient venue, and Sundance and Slamdance filmmaker support.

– For the Amplify Asian team to connect with the larger community.

SXSW Teahouse Pop Up + RISE Book Signing

It was a blast putting together this tea popup and Jeff Yang book signing event with Luna Club. Ceremonial tea was poured delicately… the dance tunes and conversations went well together. It was a night full of surprises with our DJ, a comedian showcase with Hans Kim, and lots of fun drinks!
